Courses FAQs
Before the Course
A medical certification (RN/NP, PA, DMD/DDS, DO/MD) and an active Colorado or Multi-State license is necessary to attend our courses. If you are not licensed in Colorado, but still maintain a medical certification, you can attend our courses as an observer but will be unable to treat a patient during your course. Many students return later once they have active licensure within the state to actively inject models. We offer this opportunity for a discounted fee if you have already attended a prior course. Note: please reach out to your license provider on extending your license to “multi-state”. If you are granted a “multi-state” license before our course begins, you can inject.

No. To participate in any of our courses, you only need the appropriate medical certification. Our Level 1 course is designed for beginner injectors, or those looking to brush up their skills on both Fillers and Toxins. Many of our students have no previous experience with injecting. We’re here to guide you every step of the way and to make the process as seamless and as fun as possible. However, for Level 2 Advanced courses please email us at [email protected] to ensure you are the right fit for our program!
We encourage thorough preparation prior to any of our courses. After you complete your course sign up, we will send you a welcome packet 30-60 days before your course date. Within this packet, you will find helpful preparatory materials and recommendations to set you up for success in each of our courses.
A majority of our courses are hands-on and include a live injection portion where both trainers and students inject real patients. You can learn more specifics about each course in the course descriptions page.
After completing our basic courses, you can start injecting immediately upon receiving certification. Note: we encourage all injectors only to perform procedures they have been thoroughly trained in. We also invite you to return to our advanced course opportunities for additional training, advanced techniques, and new treatments. Remember that this is a lifelong educational process and one course alone does not make you a Master injector. But time, experience and more educational opportunities can.
Yes. Our current courses qualify for Category 2 CME/CE credits. Credits earned are based on the course taken and the number of total hours spent in training with CATI. We provide a certificate of completion that can accompany your CME Category 2 credits. We are also currently considering accreditation for Category 1 credit. Stay tuned for more details.
No. Taking a course at CATI is the first step in becoming an aesthetic injector and is designed to make you an exceptional candidate for employment. But this does not guarantee employment at BEAUTY by BUFORD or any other clinic. As a nationally recognized training institute, having a CATI course on your CV can be extremely helpful in your search to land your first position.
No. Our CATI fellows are vetted through a rigorous application process and your personal investment and training is a very important section of that process. Though we encourage CATI graduates to apply, no one candidate is guaranteed a fellowship position. Of note: To date, all of our fellows have taken a previous CATI course.
Day of the Course
Our courses are designed to be intimate classes with a very high trainer:student ratio. This means we usually have a waiting list. As such, we require that all trainees provide us with at least 72 hours notice of any cancellations. From here, we allow you to book for a future course without any penalty. But we will not honor this policy with less than 72 hours notice.
When you arrive, you will receive a gift bag containing a pen and notebook, including other amazing goodies from our course sponsors. If you prefer to take notes in another form, you are welcome to bring anything that makes you the best learner you can be. As a courtesy to your fellow trainees, we do not allow recording devices. Additionally, we recommend you bring anything else that will make you comfortable; scrubs are recommended. If you are easily cold, bring a jacket. If you like a specific beverage, bring it. We encourage you to get the most out of your course and do whatever is most helpful.
We encourage you to wear whatever makes you most comfortable. But keep in mind that you are working with models and that this is a professional environment. Most students wear scrubs and comfortable shoes. But if you prefer business casual, that is also welcome.
We have many scheduled breaks to give students time to decompress and prepare for the next section. We have had many pumping moms take our course. We will provide you with a private, comfortable space. Don’t hesitate to ask!
Depending on the course, we provide snacks, beverages, and meals. We will ask after registration about your dietary needs. Don’t be afraid to bring anything that you might want or need. We have a refrigerator, toaster oven, and microwave at our training center which you are welcome to use.
You can find a course-specific schedule on the course page. You will also be emailed a more detailed schedule after registering for each course. We say our schedule is a general guide because if there are questions or a unique model that we would like to highlight, we will do so. If you have a specific obligation, don’t be afraid to ask about leaving when it is necessary.
After the Course
Depending on your specific background, with an active state license, you can begin injecting immediately after taking our course. Physicians and nurse practitioners can begin injecting immediately on their own, but anyone else will require a medical director. We will provide all trainees with a certificate of completion at the end of the course. (Note: We encourage all injectors only to perform procedures in which they are confident that they have and can demonstrate core competency). After each course, we provide a list of pharmaceutical and device company contacts so that you can start ordering the products of your choice. We also supply a list of injecting supplies (needles, syringes, etc.) and their suppliers (McKesson, Henry Shein, etc.).
Yes! In fact, many of our students join us multiple times for the hands-on portion of our classes. We offer this at a discounted price for our graduates based on the availability of the upcoming class. To secure your spot and gain additional hands-on experience, please email us your preferred date: [email protected]
Yes, our Business Development module is a critical component for all injectors and is highly encouraged for all our students to take. There is so much more to being an injector than the actual injecting. This course covers various topics that prepare you for the non-clinical side of injecting, including marketing, social media, human resources, business strategy, contract negotiation, and more. At the end of this course, you will be invigorated and ready to dive head-first into the world of aesthetics.
After completion of most of our courses, we provide login information to our graduates. This access is free to you for the first 60 days. After this introductory 60-day period, we allow you to continue this membership for a set monthly fee. These resources are updated and expanded on a weekly basis with videos and documents that can help you succeed as an injector.
